This past weekend we teamed up with HVN Apparel and Jamba Juice Hawaii for their HVN Project initiative and did a beach clean-up at Sherwood's Beach. We were moved to see the overwhelming amount of people who showed up to clean up the zone, many of whom were college students from University of Hawaii and friends. It's Pow Wow Week in Hawaii where many local and renowned artists amass in Kakaako to (literally) "paint the town." We had the privilege to have RVCA's Artist Network Program (ANP) artist Defer swing by our Ala Moana store (who happened to be here because of Pow Wow) and repaint a mural in our board room. With his eye for urban graffiti and a skillful hand with a brush, he made our wall look like one of the many colorful works of art you can now find in Kakaako. To help celebrate the launching of Dim Mak X RVCA's 20th Annviersary Collection, international DJ/producer/musician/music executive Steve Aoki made a stop by our Ala Moana store for a meet and greet. A huge eager crowd awaited the man himself in an orderly line outside the store - and when he did appear everyone went wild! As a gift, we got Steve a custom Local Motion straw hat, a maile lei, and customized cupcakes! Ecstatic fans were able to shake, snap and snap a pic with Steve. Even dropped in convo or two.
