SURF INTO SUMMER 2026

Local Motion's Annual “Surf into Summer” Surf Contest was held at Ala Moana Bowls on May 30th & 31st, 2026.

Surf Into Summer is historically the largest amateur surf event on Oahu, consistently drawing a broad range of surfers from 7 to 70 years young. Seasoned amateurs as well as the competitive weekend surfer competed and had fun in one of 10 shortboard or longboard divisions.

Contest Divisions

There were 10 divisions from Saturday-Sunday. Each division had 4 to 6 heats, 6 competitors per heat. The top 6 competitors from each division were awarded trophies and prizes on Sunday. Each competitor received a Surf Into Summer 2026 competitor tee at check-in.

Registration Information

Registration window: April 1, 2026 – May 25, 2026

  • One division per competitor
  • Competitors may register based on their age at the time of the contest
  • Entry fee: $55.00 per division at registration (non-refundable)
  • Online registration only — registration will not be available in stores
  • Due to limited space, all divisions are first come, first served
  • NO WAITLIST will be offered
  • Beach entries for no-show spots will be accepted day of event only
  • Beach entries are not guaranteed and are also first come, first served
  • Check-in begins at 7:00 AM each day

Board Requirements

Shortboard must be less than 2ft. above head.

Longboard must be 9ft. or longer (leash recommended)

Must have a hard top and bottom (no soft tops allowed)
